Find a Birth or Postpartum Doula in Australia: A State by State Guide
Pregnancy, childbirth and the fourth trimester are some of life's most transformative experiences. Having the right support can make all the difference.
Traditionally, new mothers were surrounded by family and community who helped them rest, recover and adjust to motherhood. Today, birth and postpartum doulas help bring some of that nurturing care back into the home.
Whether you're preparing for birth or looking for practical support after your baby arrives, we've put together a directory of doulas across Australia to help you find your village.
What Is a Doula?
A doula provides non-medical emotional, physical and practical support during pregnancy, childbirth or postpartum recovery.
Birth doulas support women through labour, while postpartum doulas help families navigate the early weeks of motherhood.
Their services may include emotional support, newborn care guidance, breastfeeding support, meal preparation and light household assistance.
